I can't fucking stand how people who listen to metal say shit like "I like Metallica, well only old Metallica.," or "I only like it when Maiden plays their old songs." Half of these retards are dumb fucking kids who weren't even born when Kill Em All or Ride the Lightning came out. What the fuck do you know about Metal? Yeah ya 'douche bag/one step away from being an emo dork' metal poser, just cause you like only old Metallica you have sooooo much fucking credibility...The Metal community is one of the worst for fuckin loving each other and than on a dime, fuckin shunning a band or a fan for liking something or trying something different. Its lame. To quote Bruce Dickinson "Once punk was born it was dead." I love Slayer. But every album is the same. And no I don't want a ballad by them. Dead Skin Mask is as close as I ever want them to get to a love song. However, if Slayer ever tried to do something different from what they do, there would be a goddamn outrage. "They sold out man blah blah blah I used to like tem when they did Reign in Blood and South if Heaven." A musician has a resposibility to themseleves as an artist and a fan should respect that, no matter what style of music really, and that means breaking the template they are in every once in a while. Trying to be creative. HELLO, anyone remember AC/DC and The Rolling Stones? It gets boring after 20 years doin the same thing. Douche bags. And most metal nowadays is fuckin gay anyways. Just like every 'punk' band you see on TV wearing black eyeliner whining about how shitty their lives are. Emos too. GOD, SHOOT YOURSELF ALREADY! Best Metal Soldier carrying the flag, not just for Metal but music of all kinds...Dimebag Darrell. The guy loved music as much as loved life.

I saw The Departed by Scorsese on Monday and I must say, it is by far the best film he has made since Goodfellas. However, that does not imply it matches Goodfellas by any means. Goodfellas is one of American Cinema's greatest accomplishments and one with such a high standard it undoubtedly will not be matched. From editing to pacemaking and rule breaking to redefining narrative, that film is the master. But The Departed maintains the same desire for enhancing the narrative with great editing, and contains classic Scorsese shots. And, clocking in at just over 2 and a half hours, creates a magnificent pace when telling the story. In fact I didn't want it to end. The actors are in top form as well, with what I consider to be DiCaprio's best performance to date. The humour is perfect and is a great contrast to the violence, which as in Goodfellas is brutal and honest. I see Oscar contention all over this movie. GO SEE IT!
