There is much talk about impeaching the president. It's not a new thing; during the Clinton administration many cars sported "Impeach the president, and her husband too" bumper stickers.
Theoretical: We go back to the original idea of the loser in the race for the presidency becoming vice president, making him next in line for president. A new rule would be instituted: When the president's approval rating drops below 40%, he is removed from office, the vice president assumes the presidency, and the former president's party elects a new vice president.
