I don't block a lot of people, 7 since I've been on here almost a year and a half, but I have a new policy. Every person who emails me or shouts, asking me to help them in a contest will be blocked from here on out. I'm sick of people, most of whom I've never spoken to, asking me to comment bomb or vote without so much as a hello.

Ever since the start of the new "Happy Hour" thing the first 4 pages of the Top Photos have been the person who paid money to CT. It seems like CT is becoming more and more of a paid site with certain features only available to those people who gave money. What about the rest of us? For instance the ones who supported CT in the beginning when they didn't have all these nice features. And the ones who promoted the site when there was no benefit to doing that? Let me, or even better let Cherry Tap know what you think about this. Thank You, The Dude

Ok so I've been here since the beginning, back when you could actually say hello to every new member personally so maybe I'm a bit jaded but it just seems that not only does CT look the other way when the unsaluted get verbally attacked... the perpetuate it. Case in point:

I decided that I was just going to give in to the whole salute thing, even though I felt that it would only make me seem like I agreed with the whole salute idea.

So I drug out my web cam and took two salute photos (just to be safe) and up loaded them. Here they are:





Looks fine too me. But wait, they were rejected. How come? Well the rejection letter I recieved said this:

"Your SALUTE has been rejected! Please review the FAQ for what is appropriate for salutes. If your salutes are continually rejected, your account will be removed."


Thats fine, maybe I missed something, so I checked the FAQ to see what it said about salutes (like I was instructed to do) Here is what I thought was the official word on the subject said:

"What are Cherry Salutes?

A salute is a candid photo of yourself proving to the world that you're the real person behind your CherryTAP profile. Your face should be clearly visible, along with your homepage on your computer in the background, a hand written note with your name, or while wearing a site t-shirt. All Salutes are approved by the CherryTAP bouncers. Using fake or bogus photos will result in your account being removed."

Notice it says "A handwritten note with your name". Wouldn't cherrytap.com/TheDude qualify as my cherry tap name?


Then a bouncer informs me that there needs to be additional information which is odd because there is nothing in the rejection letter or the FAQ informing me of that. Oh the bouncer says that they are only following the rules... which isn't that what I did? Read the rules again: "Your face should be clearly visible, along with your homepage on your computer in the background, a hand written note with your name, or while wearing a site t-shirt." Where is this additional information? Maybe they would like my birthdate, ssn, blood type, and thumb print.


My argument is really this: I assumed (maybe I'm wrong) that a salute was for people to be sure that the profile that they visit actually belongs to the person in the photos. If a picture of me holding a handwritten sign with the url of my page isn't proof enough, then what would that additional information accomplish? I understand that they want my user number but people don't visit my page by user number, they use cherrytap.com/thedude. Oh well rant over and now they can kiss my ass on this salute thing because apparently they want to breed distrust and drama around here.

The drama is getting out of hand again so let bring it back down to earth again. People are starting to forget that this is a website and not real life. On photo ripping: This is the public domain just like anywhere else on the internet. For anyone to complain about ripping photos is loosing site of the fact that you are the one putting your pictures out there. If BabyJesus took away ripping that wouldn't stop anything. All anuyone would have to do is right click and save. This way at least you get some sort of credit. Beyond that here are some solutions. 1. Make the folder private. They can't rip what they can't see. 2. Don't be a friend whore. If you add everyone then you can't complain when some random person rips your pic. Be a little more pick in choosing your frinds. 3. Block anyone you know that rips. 4. And here's an idea don't put PRIVATE shit on a PUBLIC site. On Salutes and Fakes: A salute is a personal choice. I don't think anyone has any doubt that I am who I say I am but I don't have a salute. Why? Because thats my choice. The same people complaining about photo rips and privacy are also the ones trying to out fakes. Don't you see the irony in that. Leave the un-saluted alone. They can't level up past 10 so what are you worried about. Mind your own business. If I want to be a 69 year old woman from Jersey, thats my problem. On Points and Ranks: Seriously, do I have to say this? Get over it. On Mumms: I don't know what an Imp is and I don't give a f*ck. This falls under the catagory of "spending too much time on the internet" If you don't like the comments you are getting on a mumm, block them. Or here's an idea, don't post flamebait. You know what that is. Thats when you post something that you know someone is going to have a strong opinion about. Get a backbone and grow up. No one cares if someone is picking on you. On Drama in General: Really people, THIS IS A WEBSITE! If you don't like someone, block them. Its that easy. Oh wait, I forgot... You like the attention. That's why you are here. Ok now if you ask girls what they are looking for most of the time they will say they are looking for a nice guy or a bad boy. I'm beginning to think whatever choice they make they actually want the opposite! If you try to be nice girls are like "That's great... lets get to the good stuff" and if you come off bad they say "whoa cowboy... put the gun back in the holster!" lol So here's an idea.. be upfront with what it is you are looking for. Me... I want a lady in the street but a freak in the sheets! lol Any of you out there?
