An Urgent Request..Please help me
Current mood: sad

Hi, Since you are reading this, and I got your attention, I need to ask for help!
A friend of mine I go to school with, a real sweet, dear friend who is an all around good person. A person, who would give you the last crumb she had for herself, the last shirt on her back just to make sure you were fed and had warm clothes, is having a tough break. She was just diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) One of the rarest forms of breast cancer there is. It is also, the most rapidly spreading forms of cancer.
Please take the time to read her story and help me and my classmates help her through your prayers and maybe donations.
My friends name is Laquitia Franklin, she is in her 30's.
Back in November, she discovered a lump in her breast. She just started a new job and did not have health insurance at the time. She had to wait to save up enough money to go to a doctor. When she went, she was told that she has 3 malignant tumors. 2 large ones in her breast and one in her armpit. She was scheduled for more tests and a biopsy during our winter break. When completed, she would start Chemo.
In December, after even more tests, it was determined that the biopsy would need to be halted until after she completed 6 months of Chemo. While waiting for more test results to come back and because this is a rapid growing disease, it has now gone into her blood stream, liver, femur, and spine.
Chemo, will only prevent it from continuing to spread as fast as it has but, will not kill the cells. Her Oncologist has explained that only 1-2% of people are diagnosed with it and it only has a 50% survival rate. It affects more of African American women than Caucasian women. She was given at most 2 years to live. I refuse to let that be her death sentence.
Her Medicaid Has kicked in but she cannot get social security because, she is not 40. She recently applied for disability SSI but, who knows how long that will take to kick in.
She has 3 daughters ages, 18, 12 and 10 and a one year old grandson. Her family, besides her two youngest daughters and her boyfriend, live in Tennessee. All she has is us, her school family.

You can also type in IBC or Inflammatory Breast cancer into the search engine to obtain more information.
She is a brave woman, determined to finish the 2 and a half months of school we have left. She wants to become an EMT to help others. So, I am asking for your help and most of all your prayers.
If you know of a way, I can start fund for her, so I can maybe ask for some donations to help her and her family please, please get in touch with me. We are already taking a collection up at school. We are also planning on writing to the
Atlanta Journal Constitution with hopes, they can help.
I feel that is not enough. Which is why I am reaching out to you. I really want to be there for her and her daughters. This is the only way I know how. Maybe, you know of foundations or organizations that are willing to help those who are like her. Or, maybe you want to help?
I really am asking for your prayers, the power of prayer is a miraculous thing. But, if you can help me and my classmates do more, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If all you can do is pray, then please, praying goes a long way.
