Red, blue, green, yellow, onomatopoeia, front-loading dishwasher, what?!' She said, 'You say 'I forgot the safeword, you idiot!' " - Maggie Cassella (NOTE: This, is why I use the word 'safeword' as ..you guessed it, the safeword lol)

"Because we do not know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. And yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, an afternoon that is so deeply a part of your being that you cannot conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four, or five times more? Perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless..." - Epitath on Brandon Lee's tombstone

Music
I'm sure all of you have noticed I have a HUGE stash, as far as videos are concerned. 95% of these videos are the -real-, aired on TV, the net, MTV, VH1, wherever, by the original artists. All in all, by the time I'm done I'll most likely have, over 2,000, if not more as I already have 1,300+ and I'm nowhere near finished.
HOWEVER.
I'm -not- getting all the songs ever created. A lot of these I like (if not love) and am keeping track of them so to speak, for my own personal enjoyment (and yours!) and as such, wont have every single song of every band out there (though I'm trying in some respects!). If you seen a video that you think I must have (as to make the collection of a certain artist complete) then please send me a private message and send me the url as to where I can find it, and I'll post it & give you credit for finding it.
Please take note that there -are- rare occasions where I put up fan made videos. Though, I have to admit tis a special case when I do so. The imagery has to be DVD quality, the music has to be CD quality, and of course, it has to be well made. (Lips not in sync with the song, is an excellent example) I've not got many on the list (but the ones I do have are great) and hopefully with my further wanderings, I'll have more to share.
Give a yell to the people who run this place, so that they will show you the entire list, of anyone who has larger than normal stashes ...After all, you are losing out on points because you can't rate them!

Until my next update (...well written, at any rate, my stash is updated daily ..ok hourly lol)
Peace Out,

-Meaner 4/18/07

Okay! Until they change things, to show my entire list (As far as my stash is concerned) I thought I'd give a little preview as to the bands/singers I've posted. Keep in mind, I do NOT have all the videos by every band. Just a fair number of them. Sometimes, I only have one song, sometimes, I have everything I could get my hands on, live and otherwise. As I'm sure some of you have noticed that my list seems to keep 'changing around'. I am not doing this, to bring things to the top of the list, so as to get them rated. Actually, in fact I am updating my list. YouTube is being notorious about deleting any and all music videos, by their original artist. As such I don't want to come back to see a song only to find out it's not been there for weeks, if not the day I bloody well posted it. So, I am finding other places that host the songs and reposting the song, that way I can ensure everyone of its continued existance. There are times also, in that I will try to be posting songs that use, Windows Media. The reason for this, is that as you can see, the entire video is only maximum, 4x4 inches in size. I don't know about anyone else, but I can barely see that!!
Thankfully, files done w/ Windows Media Player, will allow you to go full screen if you right click on the video itself. Which is damn nice, for songs on which you've never even known the video existed, let alone watched it before.

As always, I'll update when it's relevant.

Idols
My idols..? Hrmm, that's a good question. That could be just about anyone, if you really think about it. Many people in this world, have influenced how we act, how we think, and haven't really been thought of, as an idol, as to how we live our lives.

Hopefully, for a few people that read this, I'll be able to change that. I have so many idols, some of which you really wouldn't have thought of, until after the fact.

I'll give you, a roundabout example. Music.

When you were growing up, your parents, began the journey, towards knowing your preferred style in music. Sometimes, you liked the same things they did. Other times, you rebelled completely, and listened to styles that were 180 degrees from theirs.

Of course, some parents liked that (I know my Mum did, she loves music just as much as I do) some, however did not. It began genre's which many feel, should never have existed. However ..Change happens. And well, thats a good thing, like it, or not.

So. On to my idols. And I have a sh*tload of them. Everything dealing from actors, to singers, to everyday people. Some, will most likely surprise you. Some, you probably haven't heard of, or remembered since you were very young. ...Some of you, you poor deprived sods, haven't had the pleasure, of experiencing said person's talent, inspiration and hopefully, by reading this it will pique your curiosity, and thus open a door towards new things.

As I said, change, happens. Sometimes on its own, sometimes because we want it too. So be unique. Change your life, by broadening it. :D

I won't put this in any specific realm as far as categories, are concerned. Far too many, delve, into different genre's and realms of entertainment. So, they will be called men, women and other, in no particular order. You'll understand why, on the 'other' category, later.

Danny Kaye: Yes, I know exactly who he was. An excellent actor, singer, dancer and comedian from the 40-60's. Was considered by many to be too 'slapstick' and comedic at his own expense, he had the ability to make people laugh, forget their troubles for awhile and above all, to leave them with a smile.

J.R.R. Tolkien: One of the best writers of fantasy, -ever-. Granted, he was a bit long winded at times, but as one gets older, his words, inspired millions, to look beyond this life, and world, and see an entire world, so similar and yet so different. A true inspiration for millions. One can only hope he inspires 10 times more in the future.

Groucho Marx: One of the best comedians, of all time. His comedy dealt with battles of wits, and insults, with everyone, including his own siblings. And later, his show "You Bet Your Life" was so full of sexual innuendo's, that he flustered everyone, even the rich and famous, and still made them laugh. At the time, he could have very well banned him from the entertainment industry forever, and yet, had a successful run, for a good number of years.

Peter Sellers: One of the best comedic actors I've ever had the pleasure to see on screen. I grew up to his rendition of Inspector Clouseau, and will never, ever see the character played by a better actor. He's also been in a series of other movies (some well known, some not, more's the pity) and hopefully, this will inspire others to see more of his films.

Robin Williams: A hysterical comedian, even now, 20+ years after he began his career in San Francisco. With his TV show, Mork & Mindy, his stand up shows, movies, he is one of the most diverse entertainers, and one of the most influential people in the world, as both a comedian, and a serious actor. A must see, in anyone's repetoire.

Edgar Allan Poe: His gothic writings, and sad poems, were so delightfully dark, morbid and true to life as far as mental psychosis is concerned, it is no wonder, that millions of people, even now, know his works, some of which by heart, over a century after his passing. Mystery and macabre, he is considered the originator of 'detective fiction' leading to such notable literary characters such as Sherlock Holmes, and Hercules Peroit. An inspiration for many other writers, fantasy, science fiction and mystery/horror, as well as actors, directors and screenplay writers, he is a must, for broadening ones mental horizons.

Richard O'Brien: Writer of the cult classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Making one of the greatest cultural influences of the 70's. Sexual freedom, sexual preferences, you name it, this movie had it. Having a keen eye, on the mainstream world, he definately, shaped the world, for the gothic genre, the emo genre, and everything in between.

Bruce Lee: The leading icon for Martial Arts, in films, writing and ideals, his physical prowess, hand to hand combat skills and ability to meld all types of Martial Arts into a symbolic, adaptive and beautiful style called Jeet Kune Do, it is no wonder that he's shaped the world, even decades after his tragic death. Making an act, once used for millinium primarily for defeating ones enemies, for only certain cultures, into something for entertainment, and also, considered as a work of art. Opening the doors for any and all, to obtain confidence in one's self, obtain spiritual enlightenment and peace, and mental discipline.

Jackie Chan: Another Martial Arts icon, who with his talents has been able to take Martial Arts to the next level. His use of comedic elements, and as with Jeet Kune Do, to be able to use anything in a fight, he is one of the most influential people here, in the US and abroad. He has been the inspiration for millions, now and will be far into the future, with his ability to teach values towards all generations of viewers, and keep them interested in the past.

Frank Herbert: Writer to one of the greatest series of all time, Dune. A infinately intricate and breathtaking world of intruige, with internal, feudal wars, planetary wide fiefdoms, with complex interactions of politics, religion, ecology, technology, and human emotion. With books, movies, games, it is a world, unlike any other and definately a must for any scence fiction fan.

H.P. Lovecraft: An iconic figure of the macabre, he blended horror and science fiction never seen before, or since. It is said that he has created concepts, entities and experiences that are barely comprehensible to human minds. Many are warned, that those who delve into such, risk their sanity. Creator of the 'Cthulhu Mythos', and the Necronomicon, a grimoire of magical rites and forbidden lore. He has been an inspiration to many of the most recent horror writers, and his works are the basis of many ideals. Many of which, will surprise you.

Piers Anthony: An excellent science fiction and fantasy writer, his Xanth series, a world supposedly within our own, hidden away, is a delight to all, young and old. He has written many other books, however. The Incarnation of Immortality series, is a beautiful set of books, and one of the best ever written. Firefly, is one of the scariest books I've ever read, and a high reccomendation, for anyone who enjoys a thought provoking novel.

...Oh honestly, I could go about this all day. I will add more, as I get the time, inclination, or more importantly, inspiration. For I have been influenced, inspired and shaped by -so- many people ...I wonder if I will ever get this list finished. As it is ..I doubt I'll ever get all the people that deserve to be noted.

So.. check back often, I'm sure I'll be adding more people when I can.

- Meaner

HAH!

Looks like you -won't be getting an update. Apparently there's a limit to this thing. And I exceeded it, trying to update this thing. 15,000 words, maximum. Ah well. I'm sure you'll live. Right? Right.

So.

Okay, I'm done. Stick a fork in me.

OW!

..Cheeky monkey I didn't mean literally! ..Cripes. This is what I get for having friends that enjoy the ideal of literal living. I'd give a few more icons, when I can think of them, but alas, I cannot. Damn hard to do, I hope you know, and hopefully I'll have a longer list, short or long, when I finally get the ability to do so, and thus have the inspiration to blather on.

Anyway ..Latahs.
