One Single Tear

**At a darker moment in my life, I wrote this. I hope it can comfort anyone who may have felt this way. When life is at its lowest point, sometimes, the only thing you can do is look up.**
He felt so terrible.
He wanted to scream and cry.
He knew that if he shed one tear,
He would surely die.
He wouldn't die on the outside,
But only in his heart.
He knew if he lost that,
He'd lose life's most meaningful part.
So he did nothing.
He remained powerless.
He hated himself for being a coward, no less.
He fought all the hurt,
Thinking there was something to gain.
But he failed.
And saw that he struggled in vain.
He looked deep within himself,
He screamed,
"There's nothing here!"
And suddenly he died,
Because he shed one single tear.
