One More Time
By Jeremiah J. Gibson
She claims she loves him
She falls for his excuses
Covers up all the bruises
How can she be so dim?
He is lower than slime
But she keeps going back one more time
He says he loves her
He says that he is sorry
Tells the same old story
He means it this time for sure
So she forgives all his crimes
Says she will try it one more time
One more time
Why won't this cycle break?
Making all the same mistakes
The same sad ending every time
Yet she says just one more time
Yea just one more time
The cycle repeats one more time
She has this a new life inside her
His blood running in its veins
Just another win he gains
Cause the baby needs its father
It will be different this time
The risk is worth one more time
Her mother's tears begin to fall
She's been down the same damn path
But she escaped her bastard's wrath
She wants to be her daughter's wake up call
But he is just so sublime
And her baby is gone one more time
One more time
Why won't this cycle break?
Making all the same mistakes
The same sad ending every time
Yet she says just one more time
Yea just one more time
The cycle repeats one more time
She says that he'll change
She says he won't hurt her anymore
Its been said everytime before
Then comes the heated exchanges
Tensions begin to climb
And she's left crying one more time
I say that I love her
But he's the one she wants
She's his prize to flaunt
She ignores my cries of danger
Like I am silent as a mime
But I will try one more time
One more time
Why won't this cycle break?
Making all the same mistakes
The same sad ending every time
Yet she says just one more time
Yea just one more time
The cycle repeats one more time
One more time
Why won't this cycle break?
Making all the same mistakes
The same sad ending every time
Yet she says just one more time
Yea just one more time
The cycle repeats one more time
