I've been thinking lately... who decided 2 was the magic number?
It seems to me that as soon as people become "a couple", they suddenly feel an ownership over the other person. This can often lead to possessiveness, jealousy etc.
Why do we feel the need to couple? Could three people enter into a relationship? Or more? It seems so many relationships end with one partner cheating... If people are going to cheat anyway, why not accept that humans are instinctively polygamous and just embrace it?
Can two people really be faithful to each other? Should we tolerate the occasional cheat? Or should we just treat all relationships as 'open relationships'? |
