In a area so populated by courageous Military men and women and their families, it's a shame that they are not told more often how proud we are of them
Most of us have direct ties to the Military through family or friends, but how often do you thank them?
I come from a very proud Military family. My Grandfather is retired Army, as was my Great Grandfather. My father is a Former Marine, and my Cousins husband is currently serving in the Army.
I am so very proud to say I also have friends currently serving in the Military. John who is currently serving in the Air Force, Tiana, also serving in the Air Force, Eric, who is in the Air Force as well, and Wolf who is a Former Marine and currently serving in the Air Force.
I think of each of these wonderful people everyday. I am grateful to each of them for everything that they have done and continue to do to keep me, my family, friends, and home safe.
I will cry for my friend Wolf as he deploys for his 4th trip to Iraq in September; I will cry for my Cousins husband Anthony as he deploys for his 3rd trip to Iraq in December. I will miss them both very much and will be sure to let them know as often as I can that they are not forgotten, and that they are missed and loved.
I will keep in mind all those other men and women who will be heading back to Iraq and I will cry for them because I never got the chance to let them know how proud I am of them too.
I will feel the pain and sadness of every family member and friend who has to say goodbye for the first, fourth, or last time.
I will say thank you to every Service Member past and present every chance I get.
They do what they do for you, they do what they do for me. They do not expect praise or thanks...
But don't you think it'd be nice If They Only Knew you were thinking of them too.
