My daughter just started the 9th grade a week ago (she is 14), and we all know freshmen get picked on alot.
However, today a girl my daughter has had problems with for 2 years, walked up to her and punched her. My daughter threw down her books, etc. and they went at it in the hallway. A teacher came out and pulled my daughter away from the girl, and took my daughter to the office, where the principal called a police office to come in.
Anyway it ended up that my daughter is going to be charged with assault because she was kneeing her in the face and the other girl was bleeding and my daughter wasn't. My daughter also got suspended for 5 days, but not the other girl. Almost 30 students stated "the other girl started it", but mine is the one getting in trouble, because the school does not promote violence.
Is this wrong? I have always told my kids to fight back no matter what, and now she's paying for it. |
