Twas the night before Harvey
And all through the town
Not a soul was ready
For what was about to touch down.
We went to the store
We tried hard to prepare
But no one was ready
For what we found there.
No water no bread
The shelves were bare
As all of the people
Stood with blank stares.
We all went home
Hunkered down for the night
And what happened next
Was the ugliest sight.
It rained and winds roared
As we watched from inside
Praying it was over when the rains had died.
We've hoped and we've prayed 
With no end in sight
Now here we are on day 4
Bracing for another nasty night.
Cars flooded and floating
Every freeway shut down
Weeping at the devastation
Being created in our town.
Be strong we try
Pray for all those in need
Make Harvey stop
So we can do our good deeds.
Rebuild our town
Mighty TEXANS are we
Our community is broken
But strong we will be.
Out of all bad comes good
Out of rain comes sunshine
So together we can and we will
And all in Gods time.
As I leave you tonight
Love each other and be kind
We are TEXANS
We leave NO ONE behind
