I recently posted a blog entry involving lawmakers here in South Carolina. They are trying to pass a law that would allow teachers to carry concealed weapons on school grounds as a means of protection after the Virginia Tech incident. Of course they would have to obtain a license to carry the weapon, but would it truly stop school violence?
I honestly do not think that allowing teachers to carry guns in school would help prevent incidents like Virginia Tech. I feel that teachers have enough stress to deal with and that adding a gun to their breifcase would just be too much for them. I think it would cause more harm than good. What do you guys think?
