The universe is expanding as I write this. At some point the universe will collapse in on itself, then expand again. When the universe expands again everything as we know it will be as it was. The point is, we will live our lives over and over again. Repeat the same mistakes over and over, forever. So this I will leave to you. The life you live now is your only chance to get it right…
Sometimes...
You can cry until there is nothing wet left in you.
You can scream until your throat rebels and ruptures.
You can pray to whichever God you think will listen.
And still it goes on, with no sign as to when it might release you.
And if it ever did relent it wouldnt be because it cared.
The irony of religion is because of it's power to divert humanity too destructive courses, the world could actually come to an end. The plain fact is religion must die for humanity to live. The hour is getting very late to be able to indulge in having key decisions made by religious people, by irrationalists, by those who would steer the ship of state not by a compass, but the equivalent of reading the entrails of a chicken.
(George Bush prayed about Iraq, But he didn't learn allot about it)
Faith means making a virtue of not thinking. It's nothing to brag about, and those who preach faith, enable and elevate it are intellectual slaveholders. Keeping Mankind in a bondage to fantasy and non-sense that has spawned and justified so much lunacy and destruction. Religion is dangerous because it allows people that don't have all the answers, think that they do.
Most people think is wonderful when someone says "I'm willing, Lord! I'll do what ever you want me too do." Except that since there are no Gods actually talking too us, that void is filled in by people with there own limitations and agendas.
Anyone who tells you "they know", They just know what happens to you when you die. I promise you, you don't.
How can I be so sure?
Because I don't know. Also you do not possess mental powers I do not.
The only appropriate attitude for humans to have about the "big" questions is not the arrogant certitude that is the hallmark of religion, but doubt. Doubt is humble, that is what humanity needs to be, considering human history is a litany of getting shit dead wrong.
This is why rational people, anti-religious people need to end their timidity and come out of the closet. And those who consider themselves only moderately religious really need to look in the mirror and realize the solace and comfortreligion brings you actually comes at a terrible price.
If you belonged to a political party or social club that was tied to so much Bigotry, misogyny, homophobia, violence, and sheer ignorence as religion is. You would resign in protest. To do otherwise is to be an enabler, a mafia wife, A true devil that draws its legitimacy from the billions of there fellow travelers.
If the world comes to an end today, or whenever. Or if it limps into the future decimated by a religion-inspired nuclear terrorism. let's remember that the real problem was:We learned how to precipitate mass death before we got over the neurological disorder of wishing for it.
That's it
Grow up or die.
