I mourn you,
crushed beneath my foot
in a hundred fragments,
an undignified demise.
I did not want to be the one
responsible for your final minutes,
could not help but pause
and wish for a quick fix
to return you to your former glory.
The best I can do
is remember you fondly,
waving to me
like a wink in the breeze.
