Christians on CT
I feel a need to vent...
I have seen many of you..."Christians", here on Cherry Tap.
I don't have a problem with Christianity, per se, but do have a problem with your bullshit, to put it bluntly.
Let me start by saying that I know you…I know what Christianity entails. I went to a Christian high school, my brother-in-law has a PhD in Theology… my mother will, (if you are all correct), be sitting…right next to Christ himself in Heaven…etc.
I have studied religion, religious doctrine, and philosophy for many years and feel that I am quite educated on the subject.
Your doctrine…I know all about it, so don’t bother trying to debate with me, on what I am about to say, (and if you choose to, be advised that I will make your head swim)…but…on with it.
Some, and I emphasize SOME, of you here have posted in your profiles your belief in Christ. You are proud to be Christian…whether you be Protestant, Catholic …whatever. (And you know who you are)
I have visited your profiles and seen your pledges of allegiance to your faith…funny thing is, that most of them end with such “gems” like, “If you don’t like it…fuck off” or something similar. Also…quite interesting to me are some of the pictures some of you post.
You say you are a “Christian”…a “Believer”…a “follower of Christ”…a “Baptist”, etc.
And I go back to the whole fad of the WWJD bracelets, necklaces, bumper stickers, etc…and I ask:
Would Jesus post a pic of himself naked?
Would he post a pic of himself drunk?
Would he post a pic of himself…fucking?
How about smoking a joint?
Hmmm….I wonder. As Joe Dirt’s mama would have said…”Is this where you want to be when Jesus comes back?”
Don’t get me wrong…I do not subscribe to your philosophy or belief system…but I do know all about it. “Been there, done that”, so to speak….and it just bothers me to no end how you people think that the moniker of “Christian” makes you …somehow better than most.
It’s people like you who give the true followers of Christ’s teachings a bad name. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You are like the Jim Bakers, the Jerry Falwells, the Oral Roberts, the Robert Tiltons…fucking etc…of this country. Spouting your “Sunday Morning Christianity” and such.
To end this tirade… (But I may post more on it), I must end with this.
I respect the “true Christian” or any other for that matter who completely follow a belief system. I have no problems with those who “practice what they preach”. But hypocrites…well… they just piss me off and get me worked up enough to post something like this….
