Dealing With A Broken Heart
by Steven Cook
I sit here so confused and wonder
Just how much your love would take me under
All the memories, good times we shared
When I thought you really cared
I remember the sparkles in your eyes
I remember the way you move your thighs
I remember the smell of your perfume
As the scent filled the candlelit room
I remember your cry, smile, and laugh
I knew your love couldn't last
I knew you'd take my love for granted
The pain, the suffering, I couldn't stand it
You loved to make me feel this pain
That's why you left and wouldn't stay
All the begging, pleading, and talking
You turned away and kept on walking
With a smile on your face
The smell of death on your breath
I felt your hand rip through my chest
Grabbing my heart, ripping it through my flesh
Tears of blood run down my face
Full of love's hate and rage
The pain of a million deaths
That will not let me lie or rest
