Yesterday was an amazing day. I don't know how else to describe it but... it was something I'll never forget.
I was supposed to work the overnight shift on the 13th... but I got "iced" in at J's place. (Oh darn!!! lol) So, at midnight, I got to fall asleep in J's bed... and sleep curled up with him all night long. I awoke to him crawling up behind me whispering "happy valentine's day baby" in my ear. How wonderful! We spent the day together just doing the usual things... that's a treasure for us as our time is usually limited.
We'd already exchanged our Valentine's gifts (J's notorious for wanting to do things early!! lol) and I was heading home to my children. He asked if he could take me out for dinner and I of course accepted.
When he picked me up, his eyes sparkled and he said "I have a surprise for you." He could hardly contain himself and that made me 10 times more excited. Even though we were still driving along in the car... he couldn't wait!! He asked me to close my eyes and placed a small box in my hand. When I opened it, it contained a positively gorgeous heart shaped gold & diamond ring. It took my breath away. I touched his arm and thanked him and I think went into a bit of shock!!! I stared at it forever, it was so beautiful... and he finally said "Try it on!!" It fit perfectly, and the two of us just stared and stared at it. When we arrived at the restaraunt, I hugged him and thanked him again... I loved it so much. He said it's a token of his love, for his love.
We had a beautiful dinner together at our favorite restaraunt... we talked and ate... and took breaks ever now & then to stare at the ring I now had on my finger..
I have never had a better Valentine's Day in my life. J was so thoughtful, loving, and I appreciate the effort he put into making it so special. I love him with all my heart and soul. I'll wear the ring proudly cause there's nothin' I love more than knowin' I'm loved by him.
