A noble but misguided excercise?
Don't get me wrong...with my politics I believe EVERYONE should get involved in the issues that effect them; and have a collective control over those issues.
However.."getting involved" doesn't mean "don't pay attention until election time and make decisions based on knee jerk or superficial reaction."
I'd never say that the people who don't follow the issues should be banned from voting...but I'm not sure they should be encouraged to either.
Like I said.."getting involved" means staying involved...not having your attention diverted every four years just long enough to make an uninformed choice.. |
