I was Tagged by Mistress of Wolves a while back, and she reminded me that I promised I would do this - BLEAH... I need to watch what I promise to do. I'm supposed to list 10 Random things about myself. I'm not going to Tag anyone else, though. ===================================
1) I am named after my great-grandfather, one of the three founding members of the US Army Dental Corps. (He also created a dental chewing gum which became Dentyne).
2) My family is originally from Wales, England, a village called Morganton. (My parents are from southwest Virginia, and I was born and raised in East Tennessee, near the foothills of the Smoky Mountains).
3) I began acting in local theater at the age of 5 at the Carousel Theatre, in "The Emperor's New Clothes". (I performed in a least one play each year all the way through High School).
4) I was voted "Most Likely to Marry a Frisbee" by my High School Senior Class. (This has yet to occur).
5) I had my first date my Freshman Year at Virginia Tech, when Lynn C. asked me out. (No telling how long it would have taken if I had to do the asking...)
6) I bought one of the first 100,000 Apple Macintosh computers ever made, purchased back in early February, 1984. (I have used Macs ever since, although I am well-versed in Windows and most flavors of Unix).
7) I played in the National Tron Video Game Championship in Madison Square Garden in New York City in 1985. I finished 13th out of 16 competitors. (I used to be able to roll Tron over on one player, "back in the day").
8) I have a plaque from the 82d Airborne Division that reads "Wiz - A Legend in His Own Mind", given to me upon my ETS, in recognition of my three years of service. (The other consideration was "Wiz - Shut the F*ck Up", given my penchant for being a chatterbox at morning formation).
9) I have a nice Husqvarna-Viking electronic sewing machine that I use for my sewing projects (my mother and sister are both very accomplished seamstresses - I began sewing around age 5).
10) At one point, I had 11 cats, most of them rescues. Old age and disease have reduced that number to 5, currently. (All of them very much loved and pampered).
