Birth is my passion. I love birth - I think if we fix the state of birth we can solve many of the world's problems. I love to write. I also love hearing other people's stories and occasionally I like telling my own. I love the smell of fresh cut grass and rain before it comes. The South is my heart. Summer days, riding 4-wheelers, the smell of mud and sweat and the river as it flows by, the way the sun feels as it kisses already pink cheeks, sitting on the pier, showering outside, sucking honeysuckles, eating blackberries off the bush, eating watermelon on the porch, homemade ice cream, the smell of the grill, dust rising off the road; these are the things that make my heart happy. I love ice cream. Ice cream cones make me giggle and ice cream sandwiches are my favorite. I love when the ice cream squishes out the sides. I like the word squish. My favorite things about people are their quirks. I eventually know people I love better than they do. I don't mind being in the minority with my opinions. I am NOT a sheep. I love eyes that smile. I believe in lust at first sight and love that goes so deep it cuts. I give great advice to everyone but myself. I finally have a handful of true friends that I plan on hanging onto. I am an honest liar, a shy extrovert, a walking contradiction - with one catch - you will never know. I am a word whore. Words make me happy. I like to learn from people but not mistakes, although I will since they almost always suck more when made a second time. Most of the time I catch on fast, and when I don't I fake it. I love summer rain, new haircuts, walking on the beach at night, cold sheets, smoking cigars, finding new music, driving with the windows down, welcoming new lives to this earth, and hearing my kids laugh. No matter how well you know me, I will always have a secret. If I feel trapped, I flee. I revel in nostalgia. No moments in life are sweeter than first kisses, getting caught in the rain, finding out who you are, and the fleeting twinkles of perfect contentment.

I constantly struggle with who I am, probably because I've only begun to know in recent years. The most important people in my life are my children, my husband, and my girlfriend. These are the people who support and love me daily.

I am a feminist in the truest sense. I am a work in progress. I am embracing who I am. I am a friend, a wife, a lover, a sister, a mother, a daughter...a goddess.
