Hi All! I'm not new to the Fu. I had an account for a long time, but because my computer died and I got a new phone, I can't get into my old account. I just hope I can reconnect with the people on here who meant a lot to me.
An explanation of my name: In 2011, I had to have neck surgery to remove a blown disk. In the process, when the surgeon fused c5 and c6 together, he placed the cage in such a way that it was pushing on my spinal cord, causing more damage than what was already there. I lived with nerve pain, vertigo, lack of balance, muscle spasms, etc., for 7 years after that. In January of this year, I underwent another neck surgery to remove the plate, screws, and cage that had been placed incorrectly by the first surgeon. The second surgeon removed all of the hardware and c5, and fused c4 through c6 together. Because of all of the work he had to do, and the added damage to the spinal cord, I have had a very hard recovery. I have nerve pain throughout my body that will never go away, muscle spasms that rock my whole body, weakness in my arms, and double vision. My last PT was last week, not because I graduated, but because they can no longer do anything to help me. Pain management was mentioned.
The positive side of this? I'm still alive. I can still walk short distances (for now). And I no longer have vertigo. But I will NEVER give up! If I lay down to the pain, I will never get up again. So I get out of bed every morning and thank God I can still move.
