DAUGHTERS OF COPPER WOMAN, by Ann Cameron - an amazing story of an Indian tribe in Vancouver, BC area. A matriarchial creation story that is woven throughout the history of the tribe, will blow you away. I Highly Recommend it to everyone!
THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING, by Milan Kundera - was my favorite until I read Copper Woman. Love Anything by Kundera! Such beautiful, poignant titles, and a great storyteller - moving, sometimes funny in that European irony kind of way, and borders on sensual/erotic too!
THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy - yes, I got hooked and they are so hard to put down. Again, excellent storytelling and interesting language.
THE DAVINCI CODE
A FAREWELL TO ARMS, Hemingway
THE TOUGHEST INDIAN IN THE WORLD, THE LONE RANGER & TONTO FISTFIGHT IN HEAVEN, by Sherman Alexie - anything by him, he doesn't "candy coat" history, tells it like it is/was, and a great sense of "Indian humor" that a lot of non-Indians don't know about.
