Interests
This one always messes me up. I hate making profiles. That's something that would be classified as *not* an interest.
At base, I guess I'd have to classify myself as slightly boring. /smile
I love to read. Different things for different moods. Psychology papers when I'm being introverted and dissatisfied. Fantasy anywhere on the scale from truly outstanding to barely tolerable as brain-candy. Science fiction anytime, anywhere. Historical mystery and drama. Cultural history, alternative reality, anything that explores how things could have been but aren't.
I'm a photography fan. I've attempted to hang my shingle as a professional and bombed horribly, but it's still a well loved hobby that I tend to avoid a bit yet. But...it's a huge part of me. It'll suck me back into it's wiley pixelated paws soon enough.
I'm a computer geek. Yes, I use Linux. No, I'm not a snob. I like Linux for the same reason I like driving manual transmission cars. I'm not comfortable if I can't feel what's going on. Windows is great for gaming. Linux is great for everything else, and gaming where it's been written for. So...part of the decline in my gaming, but only temporarily. ;) I dabble, I can build a web-page but am more interested in making them look pretty. I'm a fan of elegant design and quietly attractive web pages, leave the flashy icons and trailing cursors for the teenagers, please. Now, on THAT, I'm a snob. No doubt.
Poetry, mythology, theology, psychology and generally how people tick. That's my thing.
Music
I love music. Most kinds. My playlists are eclectic and all over the map, or I get bored quickly. Bored is bad, mmmkay?
I'm a true-blue dead-head, but without the tie dye these days. Mostly. I love jam music. Drums get me, and skilled guitar. And I do mean skilled guitar. I'm not much of a heavy metal fan unless I'm in the club, then I adore it. Electronica is generally cereberally interesting but kind of grating over long periods. Chick blues does indeed rock. NIN is the best angry music on earth.
I like the full deal. Music and lyrics that play off each other, lyrics that actually say something meaningful, and I'm right there for it.
Video Games
I'm a gamer geek, without the benefit of the games right now. ;) Who has time for the real experience these days? But...yeah, in the past I've spent far too many hours of my life on the computer killing pixels.
I'm a recovering EQ junkie, Dungeon Master, UT2, Diablo both versions, Black and White.
I like board games and love to play cards. Not all that exciting, I guess.
