[9-08] Klayton Was Here…. (New Music – Soundtrack for the Voices in My Head, FiXT Remix & More SOUNDTRACK FOR THE VOICES IN MY HEAD Hi. Firstly I wanted to thank everyone for all the comments and e-mails – they keep coming in and they're all relatively positive (except for that one dude who wanted to make sure he told me how much I suck. I'm with you, dude. There's absolutely no way I could ever be as cool as you, so if you ever need to get in touch with me again, I'll just be here totally sucking, full- time.) Well there have been lots of "where's the new record?!?!" questions. I explained a few blogs back about how I approached this new record completely differently than anything else I've ever done. I am also recording at The Method House studios with Grant Mohrman co-producing this thing with me and unlike the first record, we can't work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. So the unfortunate reality is this is taking a lot longer than I anticipated, BUT when not working on the Celldweller sophomore CD, I have been compiling and finalizing another body of work – Soundtrack for the Voices in My Head. I have hundreds of demos that I've created over the years (and most will never see the light of day, thank the Lord Almighty.) I felt like there was a good collection of instrumental material that sounded like it was more suited for the theatrical - Film, TV and video game type stuff. The few people around me that have heard the material have been urging me to release it, assuring me that at least 5 or 10 other people will dig it too if I put it out. So put it out, I shall. Instead of me blabbing via text anymore about it, why don't you just simply * watch * me blab about it via video instead? You even get to hear some of what's to come: UPDATE: Through the Gates is now live on the Celldweller Myspace player PANTS ON FIRE… Yep, I'm a liar but it was kind of unintentional lying. I ended the Switchback Remix Competition with a video blog stating that the next song up for remix "won't be off the Celldweller debut and it wouldn't be Tragedy either." See, I was anticipating at that time that the new remix community site we're working on over here would already be done AND that I would have a few songs from the new Celldweller disc in the can already. Well, as it turns out, "FAIL!!" on both of those goals. Things happen much more quickly in my brain than they do in real time, apparently. Many of you are already aware of the "FiXT Remix Pre-Launch Contest" we're doing with Subkulture's "Erasus" track. Well that's almost over and we are still a few months away from finishing the actual FiXT Remix site. So, I had an idea. I'm going to let you guys choose the Celldweller song you want to remix. I pulled files for 6 songs from the debut album that have never been released for remixing previously, and as another "Pre-Launch Contest" I want you guys to be able to pick whatever track you want to remix, or hear remixed. So we put up a poll that will be running for the next few weeks. Go here and vote for the 1 track of your choosing and we'll announce the track you guys picked at the end and put the files up so you can get to work. And to make this a little cooler and easier, I've decided to give away these 6 songs as…. MORE FREE TRACKS!! Yep, my partnership with True Anthem is enabling me to give you guys free tracks. So I thought it would be a good idea to give the 6 I am talking about above away for free.
