This was coming up before I was interrupted by someone else's blog that made me smile. Most people judge people from their age, their appearance, etc.
When I was growing up (years back in those dinosaur days, lol), children were to be seen and not heard and God never listen to a child for intelligence.
Well, in my long life, I have did not treat my children this way nor teach them that. As a matter of fact, everyone can learn something from anyone at any giving time, because we are not all knowing, even if some of us (yes, lol, me included) claim to be a know it all.
Fact is that some intelligent things can come out of even a child's mouth (yes I heard some pretty common sense things from children that made me stop and think, wow, why didn't I think of that).
Case in point, as an electrician, I used to take metal cad cable and throw it every six feet (that is how I was taught) to run it across a suspended ceiling grid. So I thought of a better way, getting a 10 ft piece of pvc pipe, attaching the cable to the end and I could throw it about 15 ft.
As a journeyman electrician I had this new guy on the job, only been an apprentice for about a week, when I was showing him how to do this.
Anyhow, we have a blower (reverse vacuum cleaner basically) that we blow pull strings into pipe for long distances. I came back to check on him, cause I didn't know how he would work, and I saw the Greenlee (blower) next to his ladder and I heard it going. Really, curious, I went to see what he was doing.
Instead of using the pipe trick, he had shot a dragline across the ceiling grid (about 150 ft), attached the cable to it and made it all in one pull, boy made me feel stupid, why didn't I think of that?
Moral of the story: Be not so quick to judge, because you never know what will pop up. Even Howard Hughes would dress like a bum to see who would show him some kindness.
Well, that said, let me get back to the Fu life.
Later!
