New Poem

I do not need the Stars and Moon, plucked from the heavens above. I only need you by my side, to share your tender love. I do not need those shinny things, that only money buys. To know that you belong to me, I've only to look in your eyes. Our love is more than words can say, and this we know is true. There is nothing I want more in life, than to be a part of you. So wrap your arms around me, Place your kiss upon my lips. Together we will sail through life, on our heavenly loving ship. We'll mesh our love to make our sails, Our dreams will be our mast. The load we carry will be our love, as we will be together at last.

A bit of "Blue"

This is an excerpt from Chapter 13. I hope you enjoy it. Maybe you'd like to read the whole book, which btw is a trilogy, and the second book is almost ready to go to the publisher. During that visit to the falls, she had set herself out on a small perch near the falls themselves. The thunderous rumble deafened her ear as she sat there with eyes closed feeling the shear raw power of it. It was not until she had opened her eyes some time later that she saw the horror unfolding before her. Several Sioux had also visited the falls. They had gotten even closer than Blue, and now one of them was dangling from the steep cliff wall. Holding onto nothing more than a large boulder the woman was too far down the cliff to be reached. Blue hurried down the side of the cliff where she had been sitting, to a ledge that ran as close to the woman as anyone could get. She had no idea at all what she was going to do once she reached that point, but she unthinkingly knew she had to try something. One of the men had gone for help, and another was just then lowering a rope to the woman. Blue knew that after holding on to that boulder for so long had made the woman weak, and that she would never be able to hold on with one hand to grab the rope. Blue was about five feet from her now clinging to the canyon wall for dear life. She had never been so afraid in her life, yet she was more afraid for the woman who's life was hanging by the shear will to survive. Blue had a tiny bit of room on that ledge, but it would be enough, she hoped, to maneuver the rope around her waist. Though they could not hear her over the roar of the water, it didn't take them long to figure out what she had intended to do. They lowered the rope to her, and she tied it securely around her waist. The woman was screaming as tears of horror ran down her face. She was slipping, Blue could see, and she knew she had to move now or the woman would surely fall to her death onto the canyon floor so far below them. The man with the rope gave her the go-ahead signal, and Blue swung herself off the ledge, and in a moment was on the woman's back. In that one swift moment, she had managed to wrap her arms and legs around her tightly. They were now swinging solely at the end of the rope, at the mercy of the men on the other end. The woman’s life was in Blue's hands now, and she hung on for dear life as the men began pulling them up. Her knees were being raked over the sharp rocks, as well as were her hands. The pain was becoming unbearable as she was being slowly pulled up the canyon wall, but she wasn't letting go of the woman. The other man had returned with help, and as Blue looked up, she saw her husbands looking down with terror in their eyes. She had about forty feet to go yet to safety. Her knees and knuckles were shredded and bloody. Still she clung to the woman, unwilling to let her fall. It seemed an eternity to her, but suffered each pull on the rope with a prayer. Jonah and Luke were pulling on the rope as well now and it seemed like they were moving up the wall a bit faster now. With about fifteen feet to go the woman started to slip through Blues weakened hold. They had not brought the orb, as it was tucked away for safe keeping in the lodge. Franticly they pulled on the rope as Blue screamed at them to hurry. They had finally reached the top where the awaiting men took the woman from Blue's bloody grasp, and then gently pulled her up and over the edge.

Poetry

WRITER OF THE WEEK THIS WEEKS WINNER IS: MDBudiarto For her Poem True Love Waits True Love Waits: When the snow melts off the mountains, and the birds flock to the sea; and when Spring is finally in the air, Will you still be thinking of me? Will you meet me at the airport, with a flower in your hand? Or will I wander aimlessly, forever throughout this land? My darling I'll love no other, since your love has come to me. I will stand upon this distant shore,I'll wait, I'll watch, I'll see. Darling I will love you forever, as long as forever will be, I will wait twice as long as this,I'll wait, I'll watch, I'll see. Melanie D Franco-BudiartoCopyright ©2007 Thoughts of you... As Eagles fly the light unwinds, to glisten on the lake. Thoughts of you drift through my mind, as soon as I awake. Eyes of blue, with a halo of gold, the sun highlights your hair. You come to me, your arms enfold, and we begin to share. Your passion engulfs me, your kiss devours, and I hunger for your touch. My darling I'm counting away the hours, I need you oh so much. Day Dreams: I sit amid the quiet, as I look out upon the gloominess, that looms beyond the windowsill, to encompass the world outside. The things that life has shown me, and believe me there's been many, are the things that now go flowing, through my ever changing mind. Though there has been a lot of sadness, there has also been some gladness, and the things I dwell on most, are thoughts of you. Walking hand in hand down busy streets, how my heart seemed to skip a beat, every time you whispered in my ear, baby I love you. The sweetness of your kisses, that one day I'll be your Mrs., your love and your devotion, let me know that you are mine. So baby though it's gloomy, thoughts of you seem to lure me, back to England in your arms, to those much happier times. And the task that's placed before me, may seem huge and far at hand, but the love for you inside me, will drive me to the end. I'll be back before you know it, once again the house will show it, as it's filled with love again, when the two of us are wed.
