| Everyone I talk to seems to think that the law specifies how many breaks you are entitled to. But when I look up the Law both federal and state they basically leave it up to the employer unless you are under 18. our company states in the manual that they give two fifteen minute breaks and a half hour unpaid lunch, and that it depends on the dept for how those breaks happen, some depts take an hour lunch, half of which is unpaid. Our dept usually takes breaks about two hours apart but depending on work load sometimes the breaks are longer apart. When this happens all I hear is "it's break time. they have to give me a break I've been here two hours. " So should I print up the law and show it to them or should I just keep quiet about it? Tired of unfounded bitching. |
