Once again, I spent another night deeply depressed. All I could think about is that I’m thirty years old and still single. Sure, I’ve asked women out before, yet when it came to the night of the actual date, they always blow me off. If they’re going to do that, why don’t they say “no” in the first place? It isn’t that hard. It’s only two letters. As a shy and highly introverted person, I already find it hard to go up to a person I like and ask them out on a date. So when they blow me off, it puts my self-esteem right down the crapper.
I know I don’t have the greatest physique in the world, hell; I started gaining twenty pounds a year as soon as I hit puberty. Throughout my formative teen years, I spent most of my time helping my dad with his lawn mowing service. Over the course of a week, we probably made over $1500 mowing yards and other landscaping work. Yet no matter how active I was nor how much I dieted, I seldom lost any more than three pounds.
Now, fifteen years later, I weight roughly 250 pounds. This includes a daily regimen on thirty mile bike rides (round trip total getting to and from work), a fifteen mile jog/run once a week, and strict dietary guidelines that I follow. I know that I need to keep my weight down for more than health reasons.
I’ve heard two different outlooks when it comes to what men and women see in the opposite sex.
Men: "I like the "healthy look". A girl who eats right, exercises with a healthy looking body; who also loves a beer; enjoys a steak and wont flinch when you offer to get some after dinner ice cream. It’s all a fine balance. Healthy body equals healthy mind. But a girl with confidence, who’s fun, and doesn’t take life too serious, is what’s really sexy."
Women: "From what I've observed, guys seem to like the naturally slim to skinny girl who can eat what she likes and never get "love handles". It's amazing how many men seem to find body shape more important in a prospective partner than facial features or personality. Having said that, there are of course guys for whom this is not true, and it does seem to be more prevalent in younger guys.
As for what body types I find attractive on a guy, I prefer a guy that's a little overweight to being underweight - but he has to have attractive facial features to go with it...the best body in the world is not attractive if its topped off by a head you need to throw a paper bag over! As has been previously stated though, it's all about confidence and personality. It's amazing how many seemingly plain guys become really hot when you get to know them, and how many so called "hot" guys are butt ugly when their personality shines through!"
So...
When I think of all of this...
I can spend an entire day being depressed.
