My son lives with us and his children are here every other weekend and when their mother does not want to be bothered with them. She has made hurtful remarks to them many times. For instance, "I only keep you because of the support money". "I don't love you", etc. She is an alcoholic among other things.
Recently she told them she never wanted them in the first place their day did. What do we say to them when she says these things. We do not want to retaliate that she is a horrid mother, cause she is their mother after all.
Should we say...
A. She is only angry
B. We love you |
