Today I went to the grocery store. If ya ask me, I will tell ya I go to the Walmarts EVERY DAY. But in truth, I probally only go 5 out of 7 days a week! It is what I call "food moving". The food on the shelves, it all looks simple enough, some packages even boast and brag, 'only 7 minutes from freezer to table. Who are they kidding? Not me, I've already invested that much time in finding my keys, to begin the food moving mission. After I have measured and calculated its portion per package capacity. And compared generic vs. what I can afford, from the shelves into the cart this is where the food becomes my responsibility. I move this food around the football stadium size of a grocery store until I cant take the running and screaming any longer, isnt it time for the snowbirds to go home! It's time to stand in line, Whatever happened to the sign that states that if there is more than 3 people in line they open another register. Gone! The bag boys took all the signs when they went into witness relocation! From the Cart to the conveyer belt, Which is a small joke, cause as fast as you put it up the cashier puts it in a bag and your up again, to put it back in a cart, it gets kinda competitive. Maybe something the Olympic Comitee could look at. Now its time to brave the parking lot to play find the car. Great game, dont listen to the kids, they can not be trusted, they think its funny to send ya in the complete oppisite direction. Now youv'e got to take it from the cart and get it into the car, making special provisions for the eggs and bread. Then a short ride home which is the only peace to be had until ya pass out later that night. At home after the kids have dug out the gummy worms you promised they could have if they just SHUT UP! From the car to the house and then its one step away from the cupboards to store the food. In case your counting thats 6 times I've moved the groceries since I got to the store and I still have to prepare, cook, serve and clean up after dinner. 4 more times, keep up. And just to be clear its food I wash up from clothes when I do laundry not to mention the toilet. And thats why, when I am asked next time what I "do", I will answer I move food for a living!!
