Autism...what's that?? You may ask?? Or Think of Rainman!! Rainman is rare only a small percentage of people with Autism are like Rainman.
Many of you may know, my youngest is autistic. Every year we do the walk so it's that time of year again. 1 in 68 children have it, so odds are we know or know of someone that has it. Autism is more common than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes, pediatric aids combined, I know, I know, it's not life threatening but it does hinder quality of life. There is no treatment or cure for Autism. So we need all the funding for research that we can get. Every little bit helps.
My son was non verbal until 4 years old (very few words at that time), and could not walk until he was 3. Can you imagine not hearing mama or I love you?? Now, he is 10, and thankfully, he doesn't shut up now and he can run track like no one's business. He is lucky in that regard, many people with Autism, are non verbal throughout their entire life.
If anyone is interested in donating please visit the site, any little bit helps!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!
