For My Dad...

Most of you know i received the dreaded middle of night call from home. My Dad has had congestive heart failure for years. His heart is currently pumping at 15% of capacity. I flew home with intention of staying a few days, i was there for a week and a half. Dad wants to go home. They put him in a nursing home. I swore as a little girl, promised him he would never wind up in a nursing home. I set up a meeting with hospice and they are evaluating him Wednesday so that they met set his home up so that he may go home. I have returned to Florida to get my kids through the last three weeks of school here, and then will return to California to care for my Dad until..well..whenever...I'm scared something will happen before i get there, i am fighting time. I apologize for not returning your comments and love, please give me a couple of days to catch up, figure the next life changes ahead...give your Dad's an extra hug tonight...time is not our friend...i love you all and thanks for your support and love.. peace and hugs

Easter

My children are being baptised this morning...i am so excited for them! they dashed around the house this morning hunting Easter eggs, dumping their baskets, gathering towels to take to church... i am sad this morning...my children are being baptised and their father will not be there...they invited him, i invited him, seems he has other plans... We are happy this morning..my children and i..as we head out the door to celebrate Our Father's life, death and resurrection...we are one family..us..the world.. HAPPY EASTER ALL....

What I've Learned

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul. Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects thehandlebars to the saddle. Life may begin at 30, but it doesn't get real interesting until about 60 mph! You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience. The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck. If you wait, all that happens is that you get older. Midnight bugs taste just as bad as Noon time bugs. Saddlebags can never hold everything you want, but they CAN hold everything you need. It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the ride. The only good view of a thunderstorm is in your rearview mirror. Never be afraid to slow down. Don't ride so late into the night that you sleep through the sunrise. Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees you'll ride alone. Never hesitate to ride past the last street light at the edge of town. Never do less than forty miles before breakfast. If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride. A bike on the road is worth two in the shed. Respect the person who has seen the dark side of motorcycling and lived. Young riders pick a destination and go... Old riders pick a direction and go. A good mechanic will let you watch without charging you for it. Sometimes the fastest way to get there is to stop for the night. Always back your bike into the curb, and sit where you can see it. Work to ride & ride to work. Whatever it is, it's better in the wind. Two-lane blacktop isn't a highway - it's an attitude. When you look down the road, it seems to never end - but you better believe, It does! Winter is Nature's way of telling you to polish. Keep your bike in good repair: Motorcycle boots are NOT comfortable for walking. People are like Motorcycles: each is customized a bit differently. Sometimes, the best communication happens when you're on separate bikes. Good coffee should be indistinguishable from 50 weight motor oil. The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome. The twisties - not the superslabs -separate the riders from the squids. When you're riding lead, don't spit. A friend is someone who'll get out of bed at 2 am to drive his >pickup to the middle of nowhere to get you when you're broken down. Catching a yellow jacket in your shirt @ 70 mph can double your vocabulary. If you want to get somewhere before sundown, you can't stop at every tavern. There's something ugly about a NEW bike on a trailer. Don't lead the pack if you don't know where you're going. Practice wrenching on your own bike. Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't. Don't argue with an 18-wheeler. Never be ashamed to unlearn an old habit. A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel. If you can't get it going with bungee cords and electrician' s tape, it's serious. If you ride like there's no tomorrow, there won't be. Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside. There are drunk riders. There are old riders. There are NO old, drunk riders. Thin leather looks good in the bar, but it won't save your butt from "oad rash" if you go down. The best modifications cannot be seen from the outside. Always replace the cheapest parts first. You can forget what you do for a living when your knees are in the breeze. Patience is the ability to keep your motor idling. Only a Biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window. Keep the paint up, and the rubber down! There are two types of people in this world, people who ride motorcycles and people who wish they could ride motorcycles. Never try to race an old geezer, he may have one more gear than you. Gray-haired riders don't get that way from pure luck. ( i don't have a clue who wrote this but damned if ain't on the money!)
Okay, i've seen many contests, rated many profiles, been rated, made some great friends...so i thought i would share some thughts and see what y'all think... 1. Points: okay, they move you up to the next level, and yes, of course, for whatever reason, and i can't truly explain it, even i want to move to the next level as it approaches...now ask yourself why? more photos? like we ever fill up the photo space we have...well, i don't anyway, some do...a lounge? talk about a headache...braggin' rights? well okay if ya say so... 2. Ratings: Now this one just escapes me...if you go to a page, why not just slap a 10 on it...ya took the time to look, and after all, we all want to make it to the next level...course, if you're gonna leave a one...move on, better yet, don't stop... 3. Rankings: hmmm...i never understood just what that was til a few days ago...it's based on the number of fans you have..now just what exactly is a fan you many ask...i haven't figured that out...if you're on my family list, i'm a fan of yours cuz ya made it in to my real life head, heart or whatever...now, i compare fans to family...far more fans then family...interesting... 4: Friends: okay, now, even the newbies figure out that the more friends you have, the more points ya get and thus the next level...somehow, i'm thinkin if ya simply add me as a friend, never chatted with me, you certainly ain't met me, haven't exchanged emails...then how possibly can you be a friend? and how can you be a friend if you have not rated, or commented? at least according to this system... 3. Contests: okay, now what kinda real contest can you vote for yourself, get your friends to vote 12 million times, create bots who vote...and with all of that... folks still cop an attitude when "someone else" wins, or they go rate the ahead with a one....now how does one walk away frn a contest with these kind of rules and stunts feeling a winner? and my point here is? well, check it out...5000 page visits... 500 ratings...200 plus friends, good lord i think 300 fans... but ya know what? it's my CT family that has made their way in... and for Loretta, SuperTramp, Axel, Breaking the Girl, Wench, Dazzler, Frank (note the distinct decrease in number here)... these are folks that talk to me, reach out and make me feel bretter, make me laugh, accept me for what and who i am...fuck a bunch of ratings, rankings, etc... i know who's who...lol BUT, in all, i have found everyone (minus one or two just wastes) here to be really good people..and damn a lot of fun! and that's my real point i suppose...it is fun... okay, i'm done now..LOL

2007

Wow... it hasn't stopped with the turning of the year... the pace has been incredible! i've kept my resolutions obtainable this year.. no, i'm not giving up coffee, i'm not gonna quit cussin'... i'm just gonna try to be a softer, quieter me... eyes open, spirit free, heart held close... i've started the new year with some great new friends too.. i am truly blessed! the President announced he's sending 20k more troops over... mmm... i had an opportunity to visit a place in Tampa, Florida today... local wounded soldiers go there ... the lump in my throat will be there for a bit... when i got home, i logged in here to find we lost a 20 year old CT soldier ... my wish is that 2007 will bring our troops home, will find bin laden dead, will give my friends only the good things they desire, and that we will all know peace... if you are reading this, and have even an extra buck.. the following organization could use your help... http://www.haleyhousefund.com/

CT Tech Support

a friend sent this to me, i have left out his contact name etc out of respect...but, let's talk ladies...i had no idea this was possible... Sorry to hear that there is suha loser out here like this. The sad part of all this is people get hurt and we are all suppose to be having fun. Once this guy gets tagged, he will just move on to another name and start it all over. Maybe, CherryTap could block his IP addy, that would put a stop to it and yes this can be done. Contact Tech support ladies, see if you can't get some help. K & D

For the REAL Men

Biker's Prayer

Biker Angel be my guide As I climb upon my scoot to ride Let your halo light the way And keep me safe from harm today Let your wings provide me wind and air And send it coursing through my hair Find me a peaceful sunny place And let it shine upon my face Keep the clouds and rain at bay And keep me dry throughtout the day Watch over my brothers who ride with me Keep them safe and close to thee Keep my wheels upon the ground So I'll return here safe and sound But should disaster be my fate Guide me through to Heaven's gate If I must join my fallen breathren Please show me the way to Biker Heaven
