Daisy came to me in a trap. A bird loving friend had a woodpecker killed by a cat, so she set a havahart and caught the first cat to come along, which was Daisy. I named her after the BB gun, because she DOES kill birds, but isn't that a cats job? She was SO traumatized when she got here. She hid behind the couch for several weeks, til one day cleaning I left the door open and she bolted. She spent the winter in the woods, and when she came out she looked better than when she went in. (3 days in that trap with no food or water). When she came back, I set her up a little kitty igloo with food and water, but she wouldn't get closer than twenty feet or so. I was working in the yard and had a pellet rifle by me. Well, this dumb squirrel came out and starts barking at Daisy. I told her 'Watch this!' and knocked the squirrel out of the tree. Daisy said "COOL! Can you do that on call?" As she rushed over and claimed the kill. Well, after that we were inseparable, and she began to pay me back the only way she knew, which was with kittens. Cool at first, Festus is an awesome tomcat, but it DID get monotonous after several litters. We had a real love, something I don't get much of. Well, some sonofabitch ran her down in the street last night, snatching another love from me. Why won't God let me have love and keep it? She left me with three kittens just off the titty, and they just don't understand. Hell, neither do I.
