I had interviewed for a job a few weeks ago as a Counselor with a Federal contractor in my area.
I ended up having three different interviews during their job fair and was told I would be called in again for a fourth and possibly final interview the next week.
At the end of that week, I called to make a follow up call as I hadn't heard anything, got the run around until I was finally told to leave a message for the HR manager. And I did so.
No reply, so I did the same the following week with the same lack of response.
I saw in yesterday's local paper they did a feature on the front page of a younger African American guy who just got his Bachelor's degree in Social Work. He was cutting hair for a living while going to college.
Care to guess which position he got? Yup the one I had interviewed for!
So the question is: Am I too white or too old?
