Listening to all the various wacko ideas of why there are terrorists and why they are so important has really been bugging me.
I mean most of the arguments come down to "They hate us for our freedoms" or "they hate us cause we keep messing in their affairs because of oil". I gotta say it, this kinda black and white thinking really makes my teeth wanna leap out and strangle people. As with all things its both and neither of these reasons. The various groups, organizations and loose associations that people tend to label with one swift stroke as "al qaeda" is as varied and varied as any group of individuals.
So lets just go over what I see as the motivations for this "hatred" shall we?
Yup there are those hate the west and developed countries because we're not all Muslim extremists who treat women like property and stone our wives if they look at us cross-eyed. THESE PEOPLE EXIST; there aint alot of them, and all of them are FUCKING NUTS. So we have what I will now call "Religious nuts"
There are those who hate us because they see how much money, power, and influence they can get for it. If you saw the pictures of people emptying bags of jewelry, money and other knick nacks given to religiously extreme organizations from people who basically live on dirt and pissy water, you might see how becoming one of the powerful individuals able to inspire said outpouring of riches would be a nice way out of the poverty trap most people in those parts of the world where irrational thinking is more ingrained than even America. So now we have what I will call the "In it for the hookers and blow" crowd.
There are yet more who hate us because they live in countries where their governments are so corrupt they couldn't run a bar in a beer factory, and actually being mad at said government tends to get you hanged or sitting next to al-bubba moh-gloryhole in a gaol (jail), BUT where burning american flags and holding up signs telling foreign people that its all their fault gets a big "meh" from previously mentioned government. So there we have the "stupidly misplaced anger" crowd.
I mean think about it people yeah there is the guy who gets mad when the local priest calls all westerners "goat-raping godless whores". I mean how many people here get mad when a telly program tells em to be mad at something patently untrue? the number of "current affairs" and "news" programs stretching, pulling and down right making up the truth to stir up fear or anger because it gets em ratings and therefore money, is scarily huge that I can remember in the last fucking 12 months? you think they don't do the same thing in johny-goatherder-land? of course they do... and for the same god damn reason! fear, anger and sex sells! and people get fat powerful and have all their dreams (hookers, blow, access to children) fulfilled selling it! its the same in jesusland, nosexpleasewe'rebritishland or werearragantbastardswhosmellofgarlicandcheeseland.
