V-day is just wrong...I don't see why I am suppose to "prove" my love in tangible forms...cards...candy...jewelry...expensive night out on the town...whatever...do any of those things really "prove" how much I Love someone? Think of this...68% of the people who went all out and bought expensive gifts will be with someone else next year at this time...and they will probably go all out again next year...so how does that "prove" love?
If you love me I shouldn't have to "prove" anything about my love. If you love someone you should be doing lil things all year long...flowers, cards, candy, jewelry, nights out on the town...all year long...not because some retarded holiday comes along that peer pressures us into going with the crowd like a bunch of lemmings....but to just do it because you know it would make the other person feel good and bring them a bit of happiness...if I have to prove my love then we obviously have problems...Love, real Love leaves no room for doubt...and the only reason a person would need you to prove your Love for them is if they doubt your Love in the first place....If that's the case then you two shouldn't be together anyway.
Valentines Day should be called what it really is....Prostitution Day.
What is prostitution? Basically it is the exchange of Goods for “Services”. On V-day we (mostly guys because lets face it, it is a bit of a sexist holiday) Are expected to Give Goods (cards, flowers, candy, jewelry, expensive night out on the town). We do this in HOPES that our goods will be exchanged for “Services” (sex) later that night. Isn't it funny how condom sales increase on Feb 14th? So goods are exchanged for “services”....and do any of those goods equal a good representation of one's Love? NO! Are the “services” later on that night a good representation of one's Love? Odds are that it isn’t….
So please explain to me what the hell LOVE and Valentines Day have to do with each other? The way I see it, they don't...and thus...We need to rename Valentines with Prostitution...and just be honest about what the night is really about.
As for me, I just got a hunting permit for Cherubs…it was had to come by and pretty pricey but well worth it….lol
