The number of anti-North American Union (NAU) resolutions that have been introduced in state legislatures is growing almost by the week. The current number of states is now a healthy 18 as Debbie Stafford, a Republican state representative, introduced H.R. 7 in the Colorado legislature.
In part, H.R. 7 states:
Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-sixth General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
1. That we urge the President and the Congress of the United States, and particularly Colorado's Congressional Delegation, to withdraw the U.S. from any further participation in the Security and Prosperity Partnership; any efforts to implement a trinational political or governmental entity among the United States, Canada, and Mexico; or any other efforts used to accomplish any form of a North American Union;
2. That we also urge the President and the Congress not to engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement Superhighway System.
