I'm a large woman with red hair, green eyes, and glasses. I suffer from multiple disabilities but I cope and try to live life to the fullest possible potential. My husband and I live on five acres of forest land in Florida known locally as FoxHeart Acres. We have no children of our own but we are licensed foster parents and expect to adopt in the near future. My interests tend toward the eclectic and center around the intellectual or philosophical. I've got a mad creative streak which often lies dormant for months only to surge forward and commandeer the keyboard for hours at a time, days on end. The rest, as my favorite science fiction author says in her biography, is subject to change without notice.Courtesy of MsTags.com

Interests
My interests span a wide variety of subjects including anthropology, antiques, archeology, books, religion, classic cars, and history. Growing up in the Southwest as I did, I've always had an affinity for the Old West and its history, particularly information about the frontier and the pioneers who settled it. My own family was one of the first to settle Wyoming Territory so the interest is practically ingrained in my blood. Music: I can enjoy nearly any kind of music but I'm partial to classical music and the Russian composers or those from the Baroque era. I love Appalachian bluegrass, folk music, and country and westerns. I also collect and enjoy listening to various types of tribal music. My favorites are Japanese drums and Navajo chants. I can't stand music which has explicit lyrics or which details graphic violence and uses racial slang. Listening to it makes me queasy. Television: I don't really watch much television, but I hold it to the same standards I do the movies. The characters have to be likeable and believeable (at least to a degree). The plot has to hold my attention and balance action with character development. Some of my favorites include CSI, Walker Texas Ranger, Bones, and JAG. I also watch a lot of documentaries on the History Channel. I'm particularly fascinated with true crime and ancient cultures. Books: I'm a bibliophile. I indulge in books the way some people indulge a sweet tooth. I read just about everything but my favorite genres are sci-fi, mystery, children's literature, and the classics. My favorite authors include Anne McCaffrey, John D. McDonald, Dante, Voltaire, and John Milton.

Movies
I'm a classical kind of gal. I like my movies to have solid characters which I can empathize. A strong story line is a must. With these two elements present, I can overlook just about anything else. I like to laugh, but not at others' expense and I can't stand slapstick comedy. I spend a lot of time watching classic Westerns and detective movies. Some of my favorites include The Comancheros, Seven Ways from Sundown, The Magnificent Seven, Code of Silence, Back to the Future, and Star Trek IV. Courtesy of MsTags.com
Idols
My father. He was career military, a medic in the army, and a decorated Viet Nam veteran. He died in a line-of-duty accident when I was twelve years old. Everything I've done in my life up to this point I have done in hope of honoring him and being someone he would have been proud to have as a daughter. Samuel Walker. He was among the earliest of the Texas Rangers and I admire the manner in which he conducted himself and the way he demanded those under his command behave. He seems to have been one of the few who at least attempted to understand the cultural conflict and the reasons behind the various plains tribes' hostilities and work out treaties which would be fair compromises for all involved. Lillian Butler Lang. She was my English advisor in college and my mentor. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have gotten an education at all and would probably have kept heading down the wrong path in life. She's the reason I wanted to be a teach and the reason I want to work in the inner city schools. I feel the need to make the same sort of difference in the lives of others which she made for me. Chuck Norris. I got through thirty-four years of my life without ever once falling prey to a celebrity fascination and then this happened. Even then, I don't suppose you'd call it that; I was most impressed with his community involvement, his compassion toward others less fortunate than himself, and his faith and commitment to the things he believes in. If I ever did meet him I think I'd like to have a conversation about those things.
