*THIS IS VERY SERIOUS, I AM MISSING*
Hi, my name is Travis Lee Baker. I am a Endangered Missing Person today. I was 19 years old before I disappeared but have since had a birthday on July 10, 2007 so now I'm 20 years old. I am a great athlete, I played football my whole life and received so many tropheys you can't count them all. I graduated from Bunker Hill High and went to work with my mom at MDI. I've never missed ONE day of work and am a homebody. I like to fish, hunt and do anything outdoors with my dad. On April 16, 2007, my dad got up for work and I was asleep in the family den in a recliner. My dad went to work around 9 am. When I woke up I noticed the high winds that morning had blown over the garden structure so I called my dad to let him know and he said don't worry about it, we will fix it together when I get home this evening. So, I told my dad during the call that I was going to go to a friends house and my dad said o.k. son, I'll see ya later. I called my fiancee' Hallie from my friends house and told her I was going to one more friends house on my way to her house. She said, Ok, call me when you get there. At 10:27 am. I texted my fiancee' Hallie and said, "baby I will see you in a few minutes". This was the last time anyone ever seen or heard from me that day. My Car, Personal Belongings, Cell Phone, Wallet, everything has not been seen since April 16, 2007. My Cell Phone has not been used since that dreadful day. I have blue eyes and short brown hair. I have tattoos on both the left and right arm of "RED AND BLACK TRIBAL FLAMES, a tattoo on my Left Breast of "HALLIE" and a tattoo Across My Back of " BAKER " across my Shoulder Blades. I am missing from Catawba County North Carolina. My NCIC# M16493323 DOB: 7/10/1987 Any Information about my disappearance, please call: Cue Center for Missing Persons www.ncmissingpersons.org 910-343-1131 or 24 hour TIP -LINE: 232-1687

TRAVIS BAKER'S
1 YR. ANNIVERSARY
CANDLELIGHT VIGIL
Travis Baker has been missing for 365 days. His family hopes to find him before another year passes.
Family and friends gathered to keep Travis’ memory fresh in the minds of the community at a candlelight service Wednesday night. Held at the intersection of the Bunker Hill Exxon on Oxford School Road, it is within 300 yards of the last place Travis was seen on April 16, 2007, said his father, Dwayne.
Travis’ candy-apple red 1998 Camaro also is missing.
A crowd gathered around photos of the smiling teen to reminisce. They vow to find him.
“I’ve been trying to keep him in the minds of the community, so they don’t forget him,” Dwayne said. “We’ve covered a lot of miles searching for him, primarily in the county. I don’t know if anything significant has been turned up, but I don’t think they (sheriff’s office) have turned up much.”
The Baker family has worked primarily with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and CUE (Community United Effort) in the search for Travis. At the candlelight service, they unveiled a new banner at the intersection. In it, Travis is standing, larger than life, in his maroon Bunker Hill High School football uniform. The football is in the crook of his arm as he stares solemnly into the camera. The sign says “Missing April 16, 2007” with his name on it, as well as “reward for information” and contact numbers to call.
“Being that this was his last location, that person (who took Travis) probably has to drive by it every day. Hopefully, they’ll feel bad enough that they’ll come forward,” Dwayne said.
Monica Caison, with CUE, has helped guide the Baker family in their search for Travis.
“We’ve given them emotional support and taught them why things take time. We’ve also showed them the proper way to search. Every search is a potential crime scene, so you have to be careful,” she said.
Caison said there have been five searches for Travis thus far, three of them involving more than 100 people. She said Dwayne and his wife, Patricia, have taken additional training in advocacy and search techniques to better equip themselves in their quest to find Travis.
Cherish, Travis’ aunt, said she doesn’t know whether Travis may still be in the county.
“We honestly don’t know what to think,” she said. “But we still want a conviction and justice.”
Dwayne hopes for it soon.
“I hope we can get some answers, and not make it another year,” said Dwayne, choking up as he hoisted his candle to Travis’ banner.
If you have any information about Travis’ disappearance, call CUE at (910) 343-1131, or the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office at 464-5241.
