Things Must Change

"Friends Forever," we said
Together until the end
We share everything with eachother
You are my best friend
When I am sad, you're by my side
When I am scared you feel my fear
You are my best support
If I need you, you are there
You are the greatest friend
You always know what to say
You make everything seem better
as long as we have each other
Everything will be okay
Somewhere along the way
we slowly drifted apart
I was here, you were there
It tears a hole in my heart
Things are changing
Our cheerful music reversed its tune
It's like having salt without pepper
A sun without a moon
Suddenly we were miles apart
Two different people with nothing the same
It's like we haven't been friends
Although we know deep in our hearts
Neither one of us is to blame
You have made new friends
And luckily so have I
But that doesn't change the heart
The loss of our friendship makes me cry
As we grow older, Things must change
But the don't have to end
Even though it is different now,
You will always be my friend
