It was such a dramatic change for you, since you were originally from a big city, and were now in a highschool with only 100 kids. You already felt like the odd one out, but what was weird, was how everyone was so interested in you. You weren't the average girl anymore, you were the girl everyone wanted to be with. When lunchtime came, you sat down at an empty table and your new "friends" joined you, where they started talking to you about themselves. You weren't really listening, because your eyes were preoccupied. You were staring at a boy who was sitting alone at the other end of the cafeteria. He was pretty cute, but it wasn't his looks that caught your eye. It was the way he sat there, so lonely. He looked at you, and you quickly looked down. 'That was humiliating' you thought. You looked again to find him still staring at you. There was something about his eyes that made you want to hug him. They were so sad looking, and you could already tell there was a lot to this boy. You smiled at him, and he smiled back. Then you went back to talking to your friends. "Marissa, Cody's looking at you." You were confused, "Whose Cody?" Your friend Sandy pointed to the same boy you had smiled at before, and you blushed. "I think I'm going to go talk to him, I'll see yu guys later?" They gave you a look, "Cody doesnt talk to people" you ignored this and sat with him anyways. "Hey, my name's Marissa," you said, "Yes, I know." You gave him a confused look, and he laughed at you. "It's a small school, you're pretty much the most interesting thing thats happened in awhile." You laughed at this. You didn't understand what your friends had said before, Cody seemed like a pretty nice guy. You two talked through the whole lunch period.
How it happened:You and Cody were walking through the paths near his home. It was something you both did everyday, since it was the only place the two of you could talk alone. People at school always questioned your friendship, and always eavesdropped on your conversations. It was an annoyance, but there was nothing you could do. "We're almost here," he told you. You smiled. It had been a year since you two had become friends, and he still had the ability to make your heart melt. You knew it was wrong to feel this way about him, he was your bestfriend, but there was something about him that you couldn't resist. Over the past year, you had fallen completely head over heels in love with him, and it was too late to go back. "So, are you thinking about telling me where we're going?" you asked. You were quite curious. "Nah, that would ruin it." You gave him a look, "You're not trying to kill me are you?" "Do you think I'm trying to kill you?" You thought about it. "Okay seriously, I'm not trying to kill you. But you've gotta bare with me." "But you know how much I hate surprises. Please tell me!" you pouted. "I dont have to." You looked at your surroundings, in amazement. "Oh my gosh, it's beautiful." He stepped closer to you, and looked into your eyes, "I know." Then he moved away the strands of hair that covered your eyes, and brushed your cheek. You heart started pounding. Cody was never like this, and you realized he loved you. You leaned toward him and kissed him on the lips. His eyes were still open from shock, but then he took your face in his hands and kissed you passionately. "I love you," he said. You hugged him with your head resting on his shoulder, "I love you too."Your Prom Dress:
