When the night falls
the music flows
like liquid silver
into the children of the night,
into the animal,
into the gypsies.
Each have the motivation
Each flavors the night.
A different feel for the same music.
I am new to the night.
The flow is intoxicating,
and as a youth I over indulge.
I dance till I could drop.
But you are proud,
Your little night time pet,
has a new gift.
I can dance in all the ways.
I have the color of the gypsies,
the grace and sleek of the animals
the prowess and innocence of the children of the night.
To the night I add.
You little hybrid
adds the demon or the monster.
The dance is all the same
but the power changes.
And I dance in the night.
flooded with borrowed music
and then at dawn I am still
then the music fades,
and I sleep
