So me and my friend were talkin about manipulation........He said he was very skilled at manipulating people. My question to him was "Would you EVER manipulate me?" Then he said "Have I YET?" I said "No." Then he said, "There's your answer"....Now by him asking "Have I yet" just tells me that he hasn't manipulated me from the time that we met till now, but, he could manipulate me from now till the future...correct? Then he said "Well you said EVER." Yeah, I said ever, meaning "would you EVER." Why did he say "Have I yet" If he plans to never manipulate me?
I told him that if he plans to never manipulate me then he should have just answered my question with a "No" instead of answering my question with a question! I know this might sound stupid or whatever but it was just a debate we got into about the meaning of the word yet....but am I right or SHOULD I JUST LET HIM WIN? MAKE UP MY MIND |
