It is said that if you give your life for a friend then you surely go to heaven. For those that have given their lives for our country and freedom over the last 230 years, became angels immediately when they go to the Pearly Gates. When it came time to answer the call of duty then they went without a second thought. I too served this country and have two children that are serving, and as a vet I can say that when the papers talk of fallen troops I have lost a brother or a sister. Now you might not agree with the president or any other politician when it comes to this war, and that is your right; a right that was paid for by the blood of American service men and women. So speak your mind they paid very well for you to have that right and then thank them for doing it for you.
When my children are approached and thanked for their service I cannot help but beam with pride for them. It also makes them feel that they are doing something worth while, not like those veterans of Vietnam. As for me I think that all veterans deserve a parade.
