my son will be 2 soon and is obsessed with bees. all summer, he has deemed actual bees worthy of giving kisses to, and though i tug him away from them to keep him from getting stung, he's like a little bee whisperer, and the bees seemingly kiss him back.
we watched a documentary together about natural beekeeping, and afterwards, he was using a little pitcher with a spout as his smoker, put a paper sack over his head as his head-net, and was keeping bees in his wooden dresser (in which the drawers DO look a bit like supers), wafting pretend smoke over the drawers and such.
i've already ordered a number of gifts for his birthday - sandbox toys, a new eric carle book, a book on how to draw various animals, and some beeswax crayons - but i'm wondering if there's some other age-appropriate bee-themed gift i could get for him? ideas? |
