My best friend and I throw a huge tent party every year and they get pretty wild, this year will be the last one because the property we hold it on is being sold. For the past 4 years, my ex who's a KJ has been dj'ing the party for us. Now we've been broke up for awhile, and I'm trying hard to move on. When the subject of music came up, my best friend said she had it all taken care of, the DJ who did the parties before my ex started doing them was going to do it, so I thought nothing more of it. Unfortunately, I found out thru the grapevine that there was a problem, and she went behind my back and asked my ex to do it, as well as invited his girlfriend. I can be adult enough to ignore him, as well as his girlfriend, I have in the past, but I know that he CANNOT (from experience), and I as well as my date will have to endure spiteful comments, dirty looks, and drama all night long. I decided not to attend because I don't want nor need the drama, but my best friend and I are now not speaking.... she believes I'm making her choose between me and my ex. I am more hurt that she thinks I'm being childish, instead of looking at it as a mature decision not to cause a huge scene on her parent's property on her birthday and the fact that she went behind my back instead of being up front about it more so than I am about my ex and his girlfriend attending. What's your opinion, am I being childish, or making the right decision? |
