The words below are by Maya Angelou,and b/c of the way my personal world has been spinning recently, this poem has really been speaking to me . . . .I think that these are words of empowerment for ALL women & races!!! Some of my darkest days have been lately, ( I'll write about this sometime soon in another blog), and the tuth & comfort found in this poem remind me that you CANNOT or WILL NOT keep a strong woman down!!!!
STILL I RISE
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
