I was having a conversation recently with a Friend regarding why I think that all drugs should be regulated and taxed, as well as prostitution. He felt that only MJ should be legal, while legalizing the others would have a negative social impact. I feel that people should not be punished for victimless crimes (i.e. possession or use) and should be allowed to destroy themselves on their poison of choice without government interference. After all, alcohol kills more people than all drugs combined on an annual basis. At least they could be taxed, regulated and issues with buying/selling could be dealt with in court.
What do you think? |
