OK - so here is the situation...
I work for a local bingo hall that burnt down just over 2 weeks ago. The company was kind enough to place me in another bingo hall for a couple of shifts but no where near what I usually get at my bingo. My check was close to $250 short due to the loss of hours.
Now.....my bingo just opened back up yesterday and I really need to catch some extra shifts to try and play catch up on the bills. There are 5 employees here - the site manager (who is salaried), myself (paid $75 by the shift) and 3 other site managers (also on salary) who pull shifts at my hall for "extra" money (their words not mine). Keep in mind that site managers are salaried at $1000 every 2 weeks and anything they work over their required shift is $75 a shift. Also, I work here to PAY my bills, NOT have "extra" money and they all know that.
My question....
Should those that work here for extra money be kind and at least offer me their shifts (knowing fully that my money barely covers my bills) or should they continue to be greedy, rude bastards and not offer me a shift or two? |
