From the seeds our ancestors planted
to the roots and picked by hand
YOU are my strong black man.
From his big bones, his wide nose, and dark brown eyes
to his nappy hair and his big rough hands
YOU are my strong black man.
From the bass in his voice, expressing the strength of his inner soul
to the bottom of his rough feet in the hot sand leaving behind prints of his soles
YOU are my strong black man.
From the way he walks with every stride representing his pride
to the way he stops to stand and let everyone know this is his land
YOU are my strong black man.
From the strength he possesses
to move more land than ten men can
YOU are my strong black man.
From the knowledge he brings to the word
more than some could ever understand
YOU are my strong black man
YOU are the key to our ancestor's plan
YOU are my strong black man.
From the striving and struggling
yet making the way for him and his black woman
YOU are my strong black man.
YOU are my king, the nutrient of my land
I am your queen, your strong black woman
by your side I will stand because I am proud to have
YOU as my strong black man.
"Behind every strong black man, stands a strong black woman"
